DESCRIPTION

Join us as we kick off our sixth-annual Flathead Manufacturing Month with a discussion about developing industry partnerships to advance business, influence education, and develop a pipeline of talented workforce.
While Bozeman is a similar community here in Montana, the area faces some unique challenges and the manufacturing industry has set out to develop a strategy for growth.  We’ll be hearing from Lamont Kotter, Plant Manager at Blackhawk (who was awarded Montana Manufacturer of the Year in 2018) and Alistair Stewart, Senior Business Advisor to the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center about their involvement, the development, and advancements of the Greater Gallatin Valley Manufacturing Partnership (GGVMP).
The GGVMP is an industry-led collaboration dedicated to strengthening the manufacturing sector in the Greater Gallatin Valley, which includes Gallatin, Park, and Broadwater Counties. The goal of GGVMP is to strengthen business by building strong partnerships within communities by educating, informing, and performing outreach to the community in an effort to remove misconceptions about manufacturing. The GGVMP has also been developing a manufacturing curriculum for guest teachers to teach in area schools to spark student interest in the industry.
What would a similar program look like here in the Flathead? What would you be able to do with partnership that serves your industry
