Sixty-four officers have completed their training at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy (MLEA), graduating in a ceremony held in Helena. The new graduates will serve in 41 law enforcement agencies across Montana. The MLEA, which operates under the Montana Department of Justice, provides both basic and advanced instruction to officers from state, county, city, and tribal agencies.

Attorney General Austin Knudsen attended the graduation event to address and congratulate the new officers. “Today’s graduates made the honorable decision to pursue a career in law enforcement and will join the ranks of some of the best officers in the country,” Attorney General Knudsen said. “I am confident that the training they received at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy has prepared them for the challenges ahead as we rely on them to keep our communities safe. Congratulations, Class 188!”

The MLEA is responsible for ensuring that law enforcement personnel across Montana receive consistent training standards before serving their respective communities.
