Montana State University reported on April 14 that its annual Spring Rodeo drew the largest four-day crowd in the event’s history, with a total of 16,274 fans attending at Worthington Arena. The event saw Montana State win both the men’s and women’s competitions over the weekend.
The high turnout included sold-out performances on Friday and Saturday nights, each drawing more than 4,600 attendees. Thursday and Sunday sessions also attracted some of the largest crowds ever for those days.
“Last weekend was a defining moment for Bobcat Rodeo,” said MSU Director of Athletics Leon Costello. “To see our student-athletes achieve that level of success in the arena while our community showed up in record numbers speaks to the pride and momentum surrounding the program. The support we’re seeing across all our programs right now is truly unprecedented, and it’s something our student-athletes feel every time they compete. Our fans truly make a difference, and their support is greatly appreciated.”
The university noted that this surge in attendance continues a trend of strong fan support for Montana State athletics. In 2025, MSU football games attracted an average of 21,609 fans per game—a school record and second highest among Football Championship Subdivision teams. Additionally, Montana State led Big Sky Conference attendance figures for both women’s and men’s basketball over consecutive seasons.
Officials say these achievements reflect growing enthusiasm for Bobcat athletics as well as increased engagement from students and local supporters.
