The Montana Department of Agriculture has announced the opening of nominations for the 2026 International Year of the Woman Farmer. This initiative aims to celebrate and recognize the vital contributions women make to global food security. In May, a resolution was passed by 124 nations worldwide to designate 2026 as “The International Year of the Woman Farmer.”

Women involved in agriculture or those who wish to nominate someone can submit their stories through a dedicated online form. The department seeks to amplify the voices of women farmers and ranchers across Montana. For more details on how to participate, visit https://forms.office.com/g/bUHdTm4GAL.

The Montana Department of Agriculture continues its mission to support agriculture and enhance prosperity in the state. More information about their programs and services is available at agr.mt.gov.
