U.S. Senator Steve Daines marked the 53rd Annual March for Life by releasing a statement expressing support for participants and highlighting his commitment to anti-abortion policies. The senator also announced his co-sponsorship of several bills aimed at advancing what he described as life and family values.
In his statement, Daines said, “To all those marching for life today—thank you for using your voice to protect the voiceless. It is a Biblical truth that we are formed by God in our mothers’ wombs, and created with dignity from the moment of conception. It’s also a Constitutional principle that we are all created equal, inside and outside of the womb. Every life is a gift that should be celebrated. But it takes courage to stand for life in this day and age. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for marching today and for fighting for what’s right. Let’s continue to stand up for the unborn, for the sanctity of life and for the dignity of our most vulnerable. Thank you again, and God bless you all.”
Daines has joined other lawmakers in supporting several pieces of legislation related to abortion policy:
– The Life at Conception Act proposes that constitutional rights extend to every human being from fertilization.
– The Pregnant Students’ Rights Act would require universities to inform pregnant students about their rights, including access to modified class schedules, excused absences, and other resources so they can complete their studies while carrying a pregnancy.
– The Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act seeks to make it a federal offense to transport minors across state lines without following parental consent or notification laws.
Daines is known as the founder of the Senate Pro-Life Caucus and has consistently advocated against abortion during his tenure in Congress.
