Gyms, gym pools, fitness studios, movie theaters and museums, all of which were previously barred from resuming operations during Phase 1 of Montana’s reopening plan amid COVID-19, can now do so as of May 15.
“In consultation with public health experts, we have determined that these businesses can carefully reopen under strict capacity, social distancing, and sanitation guidelines,” Gov. Steve Bullock said in a statement, as reported by the Flathead Beacon.
All of the entities can only operate at 50% capacity. Personal training, outdoor group classes, and pool classes are allowed if social distancing can be maintained. Groups must be limited to no more than 10 people if physical distancing isn’t possible.
Staff at each of these places must sanitizer and clean frequently touched surfaces. Each facility is required to place signage instructing people who have symptoms of the coronavirus to stay home.
Museums featuring touch interactions and displays, and live performance theaters are not allowed to open.
