We're working with local officials and emergency management to assess needs and mobilize resources for nine counties in eastern Kentucky impacted by deadly flash flooding, mudslides and power outages. More than 20,000 people are without power, and major damage to homes, schools and other structures has been reported.
In coordination with state partners, there are four Red Cross shelters open to support impacted residents in need of a safe place to stay:
First Presbyterian Church in Hazard, KY
Floyd County Community Center in Langley, KY
Shelby Valley Elementary in Pikeville, KY
Wolfe County High School in Campton, KY
Those affected by the flooding are encouraged to follow Kentucky Red Cross for the latest response updates and call 1-800-RED CROSS for assistance. https://rdcrss.org/3cSGsNn
