Montana has had one of the highest suicide rates in the United States for as long as records have been kept. Many efforts for suicide prevention occur, but their efficacy State-wide in preventing suicide have not been systematically evaluated.
Nathan Munn, M.D., M.P.H., will present the findings from his Masters of Public Health thesis on the demographics of those who die from suicide, the effectiveness of current prevention strategies, and potential pathways to decrease suicide in Montana.
