In 2020, Bozeman City Commission adopted the Bozeman Community Plan, a fundamental policy document guiding growth and development in Bozeman. The Plan guides land-use and development decisions to evaluate and prioritize the City’s actions moving forward. This is a critical document for a rapidly growing city such as ours.
The Plan included metrics to ensure that we were meeting our goals, and we wanted to make that data public. That’s where our Community Plan website comes into play!

The Community Plan site is updated regularly to help residents understand how the community is changing and developing. Our goal in creating this site is to increase awareness of this plan and create a more informed public that can actively participate in policy-making.
A few examples of what you can do on the site:
• See where infill is happening across the community over time
• Learn how the mix of housing types is spread across the City
• See where land is available for development
• See how a statistically valid survey evaluated Bozeman against itself and peer communities
