Tim Sheehy, a US Senate candidate from Montana, stated that his opponent Sen. John Tester has "worked hand in glove with Joe Biden" in support of the border agenda. This statement was made on April 18 in a press release.
"Jon Tester has worked hand in glove with Joe Biden to aid the invasion taking place at our southern border,” Sheehy said," said Sheehy, MT Senate Candidate. "At every turn, Tester has walked in lockstep with the left's radical open border agenda, voting for taxpayer-funded flights for migrants, for sanctuary cities, and against the Laken Riley Act, to detain and deport criminal aliens. This is all while everyday Montanans are struggling to make ends meet. Everyone should be outraged that Jon Tester does more for illegal immigrants in Washington than he does for legal taxpaying American citizens."
According to a press release from Sheehy's office, he criticized his Senate race opponent, Sen. John Tester (D-MT), for supporting the dismissal of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas’ impeachment trial. Since Mayorkas assumed office, over 10 million illegal border crossings have reportedly occurred.
"It’s our duty to put somebody in this role who is up to the task to get things done. And I’m here to assure you that Ali Mayorkas is that man," said Tester in 2021, voicing his support for Mayorkas' confirmation according to the press release. When the articles of impeachment were presented against Mayorkas on April 16, 2024, Tester voted to dismiss the trial.
In addition to this, Sheehy said that Tester voted against the Laken Riley Act, which mandates federal immigration authorities to detain criminal illegal immigrants until deportation. The press release also stated that Tester voted in favor of immigrants being counted for Electoral College purposes and against preventing illegal migrant flights from being funded by American taxpayer dollars.
"Enough is enough with Tester’s two-faced charade," Sheehy said in the press release. "We need leaders in the U.S. Senate with the backbone to do what’s right, restore accountability in D.C., finish the wall, and seal the border once and for all."
According to his website, Sheehy is a husband and father of four. He served as a Navy SEAL Officer and Team Leader and has been decorated with awards including the Bronze Star with Valor and the Purple Heart Medal.
