The Montana Healthcare Foundation (MTHF) has expressed gratitude towards Caring for Montanans (CFM), acknowledging its role in MTHF's establishment and growth over the past decade. The foundation was created in 2013 following the sale of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana (BCBS-MT) to Health Care Services Corporation. According to state law, assets from such a conversion are transferred to a charitable trust benefiting Montanans.

CFM played a crucial role in managing and resolving BCBS-MT's remaining business affairs during this complex process. Due to their efforts, MTHF received nearly $180 million, which is used to enhance health services for Montanans sustainably. CFM completed its work and dissolved in July.

The board of trustees and staff at MTHF have acknowledged CFM's directors and officers for maintaining a productive relationship characterized by mutual trust and respect. Their diligence ensured that assets were preserved for ongoing health improvements in Montana.

Members of CFM included Jerry Lusk as Board Chairman, Larry Gianchetta, Dean Folkvord, Gary Buchanan, Mike Lamb as Board Members, and Marci Lynn as Executive Administrator.
