The head of the Montana Republican Party issued a statement regarding Gov. Steve Bullock’s decision to abandon his presidential campaign earlier this month.
Don “K” Kaltschmidt said that Bullock’s support for universal background checks, gun bans, sanctuary cities, open borders, and the impeachment of President Donald Trump did not translate into “any substantial support in his quest" for the White House.
“While Gov. Bullock will no longer be spending hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars on his campaign for president, Bullock’s march to the left on every major issue should long be remembered,” Kaltschmidt said in a release.
Bullock, the 24th governor of Montana, launched his candidacy for the 2020 presidential race last May. His late start proved to work unfavorably for him as he could not garner media attention, raise funds or even earn 1 percent support in nationwide polls.
