City of Polson issued the following announcement.
This is a friendly reminder that the earliest that a sign can be placed for the Primary Election is April 18th.
Election signs must be posted only on private property and cannot be placed in the public right-of-way.
Per Section 3.03 of the Polson Sign Ordinance, political signs do not require a sign permit. Please be mindful that political signs are not to exceed 10 square feet in residential areas or 32 square feet in other areas. Such signs shall not be erected more than 45 consecutive days prior to the pertinent election or referendum and shall be removed within 14 days following such election or referendum unless federal or state laws would require an earlier removal. Political signs may be placed only on private property and only with the permission of the property owner.
Please feel free to contact Polson City Hall at (406) 883-8200 or Matt Ellermann, City Code Compliance Officer, at (406) 883-8208 with any questions you may have.
