The FOIA request was made by Big Sky Times, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. We are seeking a list of all university employees' compensation with specific fields such as name, title, university name, employment type, and compensation amount.
As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability in public institutions, we believe that access to these records is crucial. It will enable us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include reporting accurately on matters of public interest and holding public institutions accountable.
Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have requested a fee waiver as a media professional under the Montana Public Records Act § 2-6-1001 et seq. We await a response from the Montana University System regarding this matter.
