The Montana Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (MSPOA) is offering scholarship opportunities for students interested in pursuing a career in local law enforcement. The deadline for applications is April 15, 2025.

Two types of scholarships are available. The first is the MSPOA Merit Based Scholarship, which awards two scholarships of $1,500 each to either graduating high school seniors or current college students. Applicants must have the intention of pursuing a career in local law enforcement. This scholarship is based on merit.

The second opportunity is the MSPOA Scholarship for Children of MSPOA Members. This program offers five scholarships of $1,000 each to children whose parent is an MSPOA member in good standing. These recipients will be chosen randomly and do not require a merit-based application. According to the association, "This is a small way for the board to support members."

Applicants are encouraged to carefully review all requirements and deadlines before submitting their applications.
