Please Note: Effective Monday, March 30, 2020, public access to the city hall building will be limited. The south and north entrances will be locked during business hours and the public will only be able to access Municipal Court by phone or in writing. Please see the link below under Municipal Court for more information. The remainder of the building will be closed to the public. The Police Department will provide security at the Ryman Street entrance and drop boxes are available for payments for water/storm water, sewer or for parking tickets. Departmental contact information and forms will be available to the public at the Ryman St. entrance. For more information on contacting different departments, please see the information listed below.
All non-essential City meetings are canceled or postponed. This includes Neighborhood Councils, planning meetings and other meetings that are not legally required. Please consult the City calendar. We are taking this measure for the health of our employees and the public. The situation will change day-to-day.
The building that houses city council and the Jack Reidy Conference room at 140 W. Pine Street is currently closed. Please note that all conference rooms are closed to the public except for city initiated events.

Dog and chicken licenses: Pay online at https://www.missoulacounty.us/government/health/health-department/animal-control/dog-licensing or https://www.ci.missoula.mt.us/130/Dog-license. No notary services are available in city hall at this time. If you require a notary please check with your bank.

Parks and Recreation has closed Currents Aquatics Center and canceled most recreation and aquatics programs. Visit www.missoulaparks.org for information.
Missoula Water has suspended all non-emergency services in customers’ homes. The customer service counter at the Water office at 1345 W. Broadway is closed. You can pay your water/storm water bill by mailing a check to P.O. Box 5388, Missoula, MT 59806-5388, or online at https://utilitybilling.ci.missoula.mt.us/, and signing up for direct debit. You can pay your sewer bill by mailing a check to the P.O. Box listed above, or online at http://billpay.ci.missoula.mt.us/. You can also leave payments in the drop box located on the first floor of city hall at 435 Ryman or in the drop box slot to the left of the door at 1345 W. Broadway. The Fire Department will continue to respond to emergency fire, rescue, and medical needs for the public. Fire and life safety inspections are being conducted on a case-by-case basis at this time. MFD has suspended any public training and education until further notice. Conference rooms and public meeting spaces are also closed. MFD’s website (https://www.ci.missoula.mt.us/240/Fire-Department) offers access to records request form submissions and information about various services and programs offered. MFD is continuing to keep all of the website services as up-to-date as possible. The City of Missoula Police Department is continuing to provide essential law enforcement services. If there is an emergency, please call 911. For non-emergency business, please visit the Ryman Street Headquarters or file any incident reports that are not in progress online at https://www.ci.missoula.mt.us/332/Police-Department. For the protection of the community and police department personnel, the Catlin Street lobby is closed and public fingerprinting services are suspended. If you have any questions please call 552-6303. We will continue to provide updates as services are changed or re-established.
Missoula City/County Animal Control is still taking phone calls. Officers are responding to essential calls such as picking up strays and responding to injured animals. If your animal was picked up, please call their office to reclaim your pet at 541-7387. They also ask you to license pets by mail or online at https://www.missoulacounty.us/government/health/health-department/animal-control/dog-licensing.
The City of Missoula Human Resources Department reports that job recruitments and hiring of new employees by the City are being suspended due to the continuing and uncertain impact of COVID-19 on the work place. Individuals who have submitted applications for positions will be notified of the delay and contacted by Human Resources when hiring resumes. If you have any questions please call 552-6130.
City of Missoula GIS Services is referring map-based inquiries regarding COVID-19 to the State or County mapping divisions.
Development Services is maintaining essential services, including inspections, business licensing, permits and plan review at this time. Online submissions and email are now required – mailed paper permits and plans will result in delayed service. Phone messages to 552-6630 will be distributed daily. Garden City Compost is currently open from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Saturday, and they are accepting materials at no charge.
