Gov. Steve Bullock has announced that round one of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is confirmed to be administered to Montana's health care and frontline workers by the middle of December.

“For nearly nine months, Montana’s health care workers have worked tirelessly to care for the people of this state, putting their own health at risk,” Bullock said in a press release. “By prioritizing the vaccination of those on the frontlines, we can help ensure our hospitals can continue serving patients while we continue to manage the spread of this virus in our communities.”

The Montana Department of Health (DPHHS) has stated that vaccines were being administered to some health care workers on December 15.

Second round applications will be presented to the state in another shipment previous to the second dose plan, which is 21 days after the first dose schedule.

The U.S. government expects that the first dose of the vaccine will be delivered directly to organizations that are equipped with cold storage access.
