Due to air quality issues, filming for the Yellowstone prequel series 1923 was suspended but was resumed two days later.

Light to moderate rain looked to slow things down as crews fought the weather. In the historic district, antique vehicles were on show and actors could be seen galloping on horses.

"Most of Granite Street and Broadway Street were closed due to filming near the courthouse, sheriff's office and water utility office," according to NBC Montana.

Production for the 1923 series, starring Harrison Ford and Hellen Mirren, began in Butte, Montana in August of this year. Several ranch scenes were shot at Darby, Montana, which is 2.5 hours away from Butte by car.

"1923 focuses on the Dutton family's next two generations as they struggle to survive historic drought, lawlessness and Prohibition, and an epidemic of cattle theft; all battled under the cloud of Montana's great depression, which preceded the country by almost ten years," according to a press release, Yahoo! reported.

The spin-off's timeline is the Prohibition era after World War I - nearly Kevin Costner’s character, John Dutton III.

The 1923’s initial production produced 160 jobs and an estimated 500 more positions were expected to be added during the full production, according to NBC Montana.
