The United States Supreme Court has blocked the Biden-Harris administration from enforcing its Title IX rule, which has been criticized for endangering the rights and safety of girls and young women. In response to the decision, Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen issued a statement expressing his approval.

"Boys should not be allowed in the girls’ locker room. I’m glad the Supreme Court agreed with us today. I will continue to fight to protect young women and uphold Montana’s law against federal overreach," said Knudsen.

In June, Attorney General Knudsen secured an injunction in a lawsuit challenging the Department of Education's rule. The contested rule sought to expand Title IX, which prohibits discrimination in education based on sex, to include "gender identity." Critics argue that this expansion would prevent schools from distinguishing between males and females in athletic and educational opportunities, thereby disadvantaging women. Furthermore, it would require boys and girls to share bathrooms, locker rooms, dorms, and overnight accommodations during school trips.
