The Montana Highway Patrol (MHP) is reminding motorists to adhere to school bus and school zone traffic laws as students return to the classroom. By following these regulations and taking necessary precautions, drivers can help ensure the safety of Montana students.

"Always pay attention to your surroundings when you’re on the road, and especially when you’re near a school bus," said MHP Colonel Kurt Sager. "Never pass a school bus that’s flashing its red lights and loading or unloading students."

MHP also advises drivers to slow down in school zones, observe changing speed limits, look for children crossing streets near schools, and avoid passing stopped school buses.
