The 55th annual Governor's Conference on Aging is scheduled to take place in Billings from October 1 to 3 at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center. Officials from the Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) state that this year's conference aims to engage with various aspects of aging in Montana. The agenda includes a wide range of breakout sessions and panel discussions, providing valuable information on topics such as healthier aging, protection against scams, and navigating dementia. Other subjects include respite care, estate planning, Social Security 101, adaptive technology, and more.
The conference serves as a resource for older adults by offering timely information to help them age at home with appropriate individual supports. It also provides an opportunity for professionals serving these Montanans to connect and collaborate with their colleagues.

Montana centenarians will be honored during a luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. on October 1. DPHHS is asking Montanans who will turn age 100 by December 31, 2024, or those already over the age of 100, to submit their name and a brief profile. All centenarians who submit information will receive a recognition certificate from Governor Greg Gianforte.

The annual Governor’s Conference on Aging was established in 1968 to provide information and education for older citizens, their families, and caregivers. Attendees include elderly individuals, persons with disabilities, caregivers, and service providers. Several vendors will also be present to share their information on aging and disability issues.
