One man was taken to the hospital in Kalispell after a shooting incident that occurred on West Reserve Drive
Someone called police on Dec. 30 to report a man had been shot near the Town Pump gas station and casino on West Reserve Drive.
"Officers arrived on scene and discovered an argument between three individuals ended with one man being shot and multiple people detained," according to a press release, NBC Montana reported. "The victim sustained a single gunshot wound and is being treated at Logan Health. Officers arrested 40-year-old Jacob Norris at the scene."
Police said that three men were fighting outside the gas station and that one of them pulled out a gun and fired at least one shot, hitting another.
The injured man was taken to Logan Health Hospital for surgery. Members of the Kalispell Police Department who responded to the scene quickly apprehended the second man and arrested Norris. Norris was arrested on a felony charge of assault with a weapon, and his pistol was retrieved at the scene.
Additional investigative detectives arrived at the scene to collect evidence including the firearm used and interviewed potential witnesses. The Flathead County Sheriff's Office and the Montana Highway Patrol both responded to help.
