FOIA Request to Montana State Board of Education Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Big Sky Times have submitted a request under the Montana Public Records Act § 2-6-1001 et seq. We are seeking access to a list of all instructional mandates for state K-12 schools, including all required courses and general instruction.
We believe that access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities as journalists. This includes holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news, we have requested a fee waiver for this information.
Our goal is to ensure that the public is well-informed about the educational mandates that shape the learning experiences of students in our state's K-12 schools. We will continue to keep you updated as we receive more information from the Montana State Board of Education.
