As a result of a fire that occurred in Fallon a month ago, two people have been taken into custody. the 9th of February.
Following an incident involving a fire in Fallon in the month of January, agents with the Division of Criminal Investigation of the Montana Department of Justice were able to make two arrests, as stated by Attorney General Austin Knudsen.
Sterling Brown was taken into custody by agents on Wednesday (February 8) in Camp Crook, South Dakota, on charges of deliberate homicide for the death of Isaac Carrier in Fallon, as well as arson for causing the structure fire at Carrier's residence on January 23. The charges stem from an incident in which Brown is accused of starting the fire at Carrier's home. Jake Burghduff was taken into custody on Tuesday in Spearefish, South Dakota, on accusations related to the setting of a fire and tampering with physical evidence.
According to a press release issued by the Department of Justice in the state of Montana, "Agents from the Department of Justice and the Prairie County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the Division of Criminal Investigation from the South Dakota Attorney General's Office, were the ones who carried out the investigation. After concluding that the fire was intentionally set, the State Fire Marshal's Office of the Department of Justice conducted an investigation into the incident and turned the matter over to criminal detectives. Both the Prairie County Attorney's Office, which is led by Daniel Rice, and the Attorney General's Office in Montana are working together to prosecute the case."
