As of April 28, the search for 18-year-old Joseph Thompson continued but is being scaled back, according to 8 KPAX.

Joseph Thompson, age 18, who was reported missing on April 11 and whose last known whereabouts was along Southside Road, is still being looked for. The Missoula County Sheriff's Office and Missoula County Search and Rescue are continuing their efforts to look for the missing person.

Thompson is described as having blond hair and blue eyes, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 140 pounds. He was last seen 4 to 5 miles up Southside Road around 4 a.m. on April 11. He was said to be dressed in blue jeans, an orange and red Aunt Jemima sweater and black Vans high-top sneakers, according to NBC Montana.

Anyone who believes they may have information regarding Thompson's disappearance is urged to call 911 or get in touch with Detective Deibert at 406-258-3713 as soon as possible.

"The Missoula County Sheriff's Office is conducting an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding Thompson's disappearance both before and after the complaint was made that he was missing. Over the course of the weekend, Missoula County Search and Rescue, with the assistance of Two Bear Air, carried out extensive searches using drones, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs and UTVs), a canine unit and several people on foot. Missoula County Search and Rescue is continuing to actively search for Thompson in the expansive Southside Road area," according to NBC Montana.

The Missoula County Sheriff's Office is grateful for the support that has been shown to Thompson's friends and family, as well as the willingness of people to assist in the search efforts. They ask everyone who goes out to look for Thompson to use extreme caution, so that they do not tamper with any evidence that might point to his whereabouts. People are advised to avoid putting themselves in a position where they might require assistance from Search and Rescue.
