Pickens Again Named Frontier Conference Player of the Week

The Frontier Conference has announced the final winners of their weekly basketball awards. Jamie Pickens of Carroll College was selected as the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference's Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Pickens is a 6-foot-2 senior forward from Helena, Mont.

Carroll captured the 2023 Frontier Conference tournament title with 67-52 semi-final win over the University of Providence and 53-47 championship game victory over Montana Western.

Pickens was dominant in the conference tournament. She averaged 22 points, 10 rebounds, two steals and two blocks per game. In limited minutes in the Frontier title game, Pickens still managed to post a game-high 18 points in only 22 minutes of floor time. She was 17 of 28 from the field (60.7 percent) and 10 of 14 from the free throw line.

This is the fourth time on the year that Pickens, a 2023 Frontier Conference Player of the Year selection, has won the weekly honor.

Pickens and the rest of the Fighting Saints begin play in the 2023 NAIA Women's Basketball Championship First and Second Rounds tomorrow. The No. 2-seeded Saints will host Rochester University (Mich.) at 7 p.m. in the Carroll College PE Center. Tickets for the game are available online HERE, or at the door.
