U.S. Senate Candidate in Montana Tim Sheehy criticized the border policy of the current administration, describing it as a "complete failure" due to the influx of millions of illegal migrants entering the United States. Sheehy made this statement to Big Sky Times on July 24.

"Kamala Harris has been a complete failure on the border, and Jon Tester has supported her and Joe Biden's radical open borders agenda every step of the way," said Sheehy. "Together, they have allowed millions of illegals to invade our country, bringing crime and drugs into our communities, and supported mass amnesty and taxpayer-funded health care for illegal immigrants. We need to save our country by electing American warriors who will seal our border, put America First, and put an end to the illegal immigrant invasion once and for all."

Vice President Kamala Harris was tasked in 2021 by President Biden to uncover the causes of mass migration to the U.S.-Mexico border, according to Fox News. Since this appointment, she has attempted to dismantle U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and suggested that the U.S. should "decriminalize" unauthorized border crossings.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Border Patrol has arrested 14,000 individuals with existing criminal convictions illegally crossing to date in fiscal year 2024.

In August 2023, three illegal migrants who entered through the southwest border were arrested in Montana for human and fentanyl trafficking and subsequently deported, America First Policy Institute (AFPI) reported. Illegal narcotic seizures in Montana increased by 11,000% between 2019 and 2023.

Sheehy is a veteran and the Republican Senate candidate for Montana, according to his campaign website.
