Tim Sheehy, U.S. Senate candidate in Montana, stated that the current administration is "pro-open borders" and "pro-illegal immigration," which he believes does not prioritize American citizens, specifically Montanans. Sheehy made his remarks to the Big Sky Times on September 3.
"The Biden-Harris administration's disastrous pro-open borders, pro-illegal immigration, and pro-amnesty agenda puts Montana and America Last, and Jon Tester has supported it every step of the way," said Sheehy. "America needs strong leaders to put an end to the illegal immigrant invasion once and for all, and that's why we need to send President Donald Trump back to the White House and defeat radical pro-amnesty Leftists Kamala Harris and Jon Tester."
According to Customs and Border Protection data, from Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 through July of FY2024, there have been 8,515,072 southwest land border encounters.
Sheehy criticized his opponent, incumbent Senator Jon Tester, for supporting the current border policies under the Biden-Harris administration: "Tester supported legislation that would grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants."
Sheehy also claimed that Tester voted against an amendment that would prevent undocumented immigrants with "serious misdemeanors" from obtaining citizenship.
Sheehy is a veteran and the Republican Senate candidate for Montana, according to his campaign website.
